Owen Herrin, former member of the Okefenokee Technical College Board of Directors, was presented a “Distinguished Service Award” by Dr. Gail Thaxton, president of OTC, at the June board meeting. Herrin served on the Board of Directors from July 2005 until June 2008, but his ties to the college go back as far as 1992 through his service and contributions to the OTC Foundation. Thaxton thanked Herrin for his investment in technical education over the years.
