Class of ‘44 Tours OTC


OTC President Gail Thaxton (left) was delighted to welcome the Waycross High School Class of 1944 to the main campus of Okefenokee Technical College on a Saturday for a special group tour as part of their class reunion activities. “We are very proud of our campus and always enjoy having guests visit with us,” stated Thaxton. Classmates and their spouses were treated to a bus tour of the campus grounds, including the allied health building (under construction) and the commercial truck driving pad. The group also toured several program areas, including the electronics and industrial systems technology labs, the Cisco lab, and the respiratory care technology lab. Class of 1944

OTC Vice President for Economic Development Andy Brannen and OTC truck driving instructor Carl Davis served as tour guides. Participants included Bob Sasser, Dot Sasser, Grady Wildes, Marceil Wildes, Winifred Pierce, Elmer Pierce, Frankie Mitchell, Adele Mitchell, Robert (Bob) Henderson, Trudie Corley, Eloise Howard, Mildred Barber, Letia Dunsmore, Robert E. Brown, George Farr, and Carol Jean Farr.
