Wal-Mart Donates to OTC Adult Education Program

On behalf of the Wal-Mart Super Center in St. Mary’s, Doris Cotton, Community Involvement Coordinator, recently presented Sharon Matejka, Charlton County Adult Education instructor, (left) with a check for $1,000. The generous grant was awarded to the Okefenokee Technical College Foundation for the Charlton County Adult Education program. As a result, Ms. Matejka will be able to purchase Sharon Matejka, Doris Cotton, Natalie Hannans, and Linda Scottlearning materials that will enable the program to meet the needs of additional learning groups. Linda Scott, an Adult Education student, (right) and Natalie Hannans, a community volunteer and an Adult Education Advisory Committee member, (second from right) were on hand to celebrate the occasion. Ms. Matejka hopes to have the materials available for students beginning July 2006.
