OTC Student Organizations Team Up for Holiday Food Drive

Five Okefenokee Technical College (OTC) student organizations teamed up during the weeks prior to Thanksgiving to collect nonperishable food items for the Salvation Army food pantry. Students in Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), Student Government Association (SGA), Horticulture Club, SkillsUSA and the Ambassador program organized the project, brought assorted goods, and encouraged staff and other students to participate.

When the last day for the charitable activity arrived, three large boxes had been filled with food items, which were given to the local Salvation Army for distribution to families in the area facing financial hardship during the holidays. Advisors and members of the five OTC organizations would like to thank all instructors, staff, and students who donated to the drive. Club members present for the photo: Lee Yokum (L to R), Rachel Driver, Simon Cason, Lea Thornton, Jasmine Williams, Deidre Durance, and Sam Knight.
