OTC Nursing Students Assist Satilla Care Center and WMS

Nursing Students

Okefenokee Technical College nursing students who are interning at Satilla Care Center on Riverside Avenue this quarter volunteered to help add a little sunshine to the center by planting flowers and installing a goldfish pond. Afterwards, Satilla Care Center residents took advantage of the beautiful May weather and gathered around outside the home to enjoy the new scenery.

The nurses would like to thank Jimmy Morgan for donating the goldfish pond and the OTC Environmental Horticulture program for selecting and supplying many of the flowers. Lori Henderson is their supervising instructor this quarter.

On May 3, 2006, another group of OTC Practical Nursing students volunteered to assist area physicians and nurses in completing over 1200 student athletic physicals at the Waycross Middle School. This group of nurses attends evening classes at OTC. Mrs. Theresa Henry is their lead nursing instructor.
