Moi Monroe was recently presented a beautiful framed Giclee watercolor of Okefenokee Technical College by OTC President Gail Thaxton in appreciation for his service and support to Okefenokee Technical College. Monroe has served as a trustee on the OTC Foundation Board since 2004, and the Monroe Foundation has contributed over $70,000 to the college over the years. According to OTC Foundation Executive Director, Cindy Tanner, the Monroe Foundation was one of the first, if not the first, contributor to the Okefenokee Tech Foundation back in 1992. The Monroe Foundation has provided financial assistance to hundreds of students through academic and needs-based scholarships, and more recently toolbox scholarships. Dr. Thaxton thanked Monroe for the generosity of his family and for their contributions to the community and education through the foundation. Rachel Settle is the artist of the watercolor.
