FMB Gives to OTC Foundation Event

Farmers & Merchants Bank Director, Jimmy Douglas, and FMB City President, Tommy Nimmer, present OTC President Gail Thaxton with a fully camouflaged, 12 gauge, semi-automatic shotgun for the OTC Foundation Gritz and Glitz Gala.  The gun has interchangeable chokes and built in sling mounts and was donated by FMB to help raise funds that will benefit OTC students through academic Farmers and Merchants Bank Donationscholarships and special assistance programs. The prize will be on display at the gala, which will be held June 21 at the depot in downtown Waycross. Gala guests will have an opportunity to purchase a chance to win the camouflaged shotgun for $20. “The event promises to be a lot of fun,” stated Thaxton, “and we sincerely appreciate Farmers and Merchants Bank for their generosity and support of technical education and workforce development.” The “Southern Affair” will begin at 7 p.m. In addition to opportunities to bid on auction items, guests will be eligible for cash prizes, including a $5,000 grand prize, and other gifts. Rhythm Oil will provide music for dancing and entertainment. For sponsorship or ticket information, call Cindy Tanner at 287-5829.
