Deedee Thomas Joins OTC Staff as Director



Deedee Thomas recently accepted the position of Director of Tech Prep and Career Transition Services at Okefenokee Technical College. In this position, Mrs. Thomas is responsible for implementing and marketing Tech Prep and career transition program activities and preparing grant proposals, among other duties.

Prior to employment at Okefenokee Technical College, Mrs. Thomas worked as aDeedee Thomas social services case manager with the Clinch County Department of Family and Children Services in Homerville. In this position she provided child protective services for Clinch County.  Prior to this position, she was the Coordinator for the Clinch County Family Connection in Homerville where she worked to implement programs for children and youth throughout the county.

Mrs. Thomas has a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and a Master’s in Applied Sociology, both from Valdosta State University.

Mrs. Thomas has been involved in this community through her membership and leadership in multiple professional and community organizations including the Clinch County Adult Literacy Board. Other organizations and boards that Mrs. Thomas has actively participated in include School to Work, Leader of the Jr. Girl Scouts, Child Care Resource and Referral Agency of South Georgia, 211 of South Central Georgia, and various Family Connection Partnership committees.
Deedee Thomas is married to John Thomas and lives in Homerville.  She attends the United Methodist Church in Fargo.
