Craig Camuso & Gus Karle Visit Okefenokee Tech

Craig Camuso (left), CSX Transportation regional vice president, and A. A. “Gus” Karle (right) visited the Okefenokee Technical College Waycross campus recently where Camuso presented OTC President Dr. Gail Thaxton with a generous donation for the OTC Foundation. Karle, who is retired from CSX, served as the Waycross Superintendent of the corporation for a number of years and was a former trustee and chair of the OTC Foundation.

“This very generous contribution to education will be used to assist students with program-related costs and to fund programs, events, and projects that support the work of the college,’ stated Thaxton. “CSX has been a champion supporter of OTC for many years, and we appreciate the support.”

Cindy Tanner, executive director of the OTC Foundation, expressed appreciation to Mr. Camuso, Mr. Karle, and CSX on behalf of the Foundation trustees. “We sincerely appreciate Mr. Gus,” Tanner told Camuso, “and his dedication to higher education. He continues to visit the College and Foundation Office and supports us in the community and through his connections at CSX.
