Ambia Kicklighter is OTC Scholarship Recipient

Ambia Kicklighter (left) was recently chosen as the first recipient of the Okefenokee Technical College Medical Assisting Scholarship. Kicklighter, who is in her last quarter, has excelled in the program. She selected the Medical Assisting profession because she loves helping people and because she enjoys the variety of work that is inherent in the job. The Medical Assisting Scholarship was established in 2007 to recognize graduating Medical Assisting students who have achieved academic excellence. “Mrs. Kicklighter is a very deserving student who is conscientious and observes excellent work ethics,” stated Downs. Kicklighter plans to use her scholarship money to help with expenses related to the registry exam.

Downs, OTC Medical Assisting program director, congratulated Kicklighter and helped present the award, which was given on October 17th, Medical Assistant’s Day.
