One-Stop Admissions Process

The admissions process at Okefenokee Technical College may be completed in one stop of about 3 hours or less.

  1. If you are unsure of what program you would like to enter, meet with the Director of Career Services to complete a career skills inventory and discuss the programs offered at OTC.
  2. Bring an official high school or GED transcript to document high school graduation or GED completion if required by your selected program of study. A copy of the diploma may be acceptable in some cases. Transcripts may be requested by completing the request form and mailing to each institution you have attended previously. Please be aware most institutions will not release transcripts until payment of the processing fee has been received.
  3. Complete the Okefenokee Technical College (OTC) application and pay the nonrefundable application fee.
  4. Submit a copy of a driver’s license, state issued identification card, or at least one secure and verifiable document defined in Georgia Code Section 50-36-2.  The Georgia Code Sections can be found at www.georgia.gov.  The driver’s license and state issued identification card must be issued after January 1, 2008.
  5. Take the placement test (You may be eligible to exempt the admissions assessment if you have successfully completed the program-equivalent math and English courses at a regionally accredited postsecondary school or have acceptable COMPASS, Asset, SAT, or ACT scores. An official transcript indicating the courses completed or test scores is required). A photo ID or prior arrangements for providing an alternate form of identification is required.
  6. Meet with an advisor to discuss your assessment scores. You may also register for classes if registration is open.
  7. If you wish to apply for financial aid, meet with a financial aid officer to discuss available financial aid options.
Getting started on a career that can change your life is just that easy. OTC’s admissions staff, advisors, and financial aid staff are here to help you through every step of the process. We hope to see you soon!
