Students must submit a completed application and the
required one-time application fee of $15 to the college.
Students seeking entrance into any credit course or program
must be at least 16 years of age. Applicants seeking admission
into Allied Health programs must be at least 17 years of
age.
Students seeking admission into Associate Degree programs
must have high school diploma or GED before entrance into
the program.
An applicant that does not have a high school diploma
or GED, and who wishes to apply for financial aid, may demonstrate
eligibility for entry into those programs not requiring
a high school diploma/GED if the applicant receives acceptable
programs entry scores. Passing the ATB exam does not take
the place of having a high school or GED for those programs
that require a diploma or GED for admission purposes. Minimum
ASSET passing scores for the ATB in Writing, Reading, and
Numerical are 35, 35, and 33 respectively. The minimum passing
scores for the Compass tests in Writing, Reading, and Pre-Algebra
are 32, 62, and 25 respectively. If these scores are not
met and the student does not have a school diploma or GED,
he/she is not eligible for the Federal Pell Grant.
All students in degree, diploma and certain certificate programs must
have a high school diploma or GED prior to admission to OTC.
An applicant must achieve minimum admission scores on
tests of reading, writing, and numerical skills as specified
in the DTAE document Minimum Program Entrance Scores for
each standard degree, diploma, or technical certificate
programs for credit. If a student submits scores of 430
verbal and 400 math (460 verbal and 430 math for medical
programs) or ACT scores of 18 English and 17 math, then
he/she is exempt from asset placement test except for those
students who desire to study in a medical or degree program.
When substituting ASSET or COMPASS scores with SAT or ACT,
scores must be submitted by the last scheduled COMPASS examination
for that quarter to avoid an entrance delay. Degree seeking
students must have 480 verbal and 440 math to exempt placement
testing.
Specific majors may require additional documentation.
Please refer to the specific program for additional admission
requirements.
