Program Description
The Plant Production Specialist technical certificate of credit provides entry-level skills in plant production. Topics include: horticulture science, plant identification, greenhouse operations, and plant production.
Length of Program
Length of program varies with the student’s ability
to schedule classes.
Entrance Date
Students are accepted quarterly.

Education
High school diploma or GED
Advisor
An advisor should be consulted prior to enrolling in any
course. A program advisor will be assigned by admissions.
Salary Range
$12,000-$13,500 annually
Job Market
The job market throughout the southeastern US continues to
be strong for agri-business and allied fields. Current
statistics (2004) state that there are approximately 14
percent more jobs than employees to fill in the horticulture
field.
Personal Traits Required
Individuals considering employment in the horticulture field
should like working outdoors. Jobs offer a variety of work
options along with much personal satisfaction and fulfillment.
