Program Description
The Paint and Refinishing Specialist certificate is intended
to produce graduates who are prepared as Paint and Refinishing
Specialists. Program graduates will be competent in the following
occupational areas of auto body: sanding, priming, and painting
preparation, special refinishing application, urethane enamels
application, tinting and matching colors, and detailing.
Length of Program
Length of program varies with the student’s ability
to schedule classes.
Entrance Date
Students are accepted quarterly.
Entrance Requirements
OTC Placement Exam
Age
16 years of age or older
Education
High School Diploma or GED is not required.
Advisor
An advisor should be consulted prior to enrolling in any course.
A program advisor will be assigned by admissions.
Salary Range
$10 to $12 per hour
Job Market
Today's job market is growing, and it requires a more highly
trained technician to use today's advanced urethane systems
and materials.
Personal Traits Required
Potential students should be mechanically inclined and have
knowledge of math and computers. Hand work is a must.
