Program Description
The Forest Technology Program is designed to produce competent
technicians to work in forest management, timber procurement,
surveying, research, and tree improvement.
Length of Program
Six quarters
Entrance Date
Students are accepted quarterly.
Entrance Requirements
OTC Placement Exam
Age
16 years of age or older
Education
High School Diploma or GED
Advisor
An advisor should be consulted prior to enrolling in any course.
A program advisor will be assigned by admissions.
Salary Range
Salary Range $20,000 to $24,000 annually
Job Market
The job market is tight but adequate. Placement for graduates
with good grades and strong work ethics is excellent. All
graduates that are seeking jobs are finding opportunities.
Demand for forest products remains strong and should grow
with population increases.
Personal Traits Required
The ideal program entrant will have a strong interest in working
outdoors, dislike repetitive tasks, and have excellent work
ethics.
