Program Description
The Forest Technician Assistant certificate of credit is designed
to prepare students for basic entry level skills in Forest
Technology. Students will learn the basics of dendrology,
forest protection, and forest products. Students will also
learn how to survey and map forests and basic forest measurement
techniques.
Length of Program
Length of program varies with the student’s ability
to schedule classes.
Entrance Date
Students are accepted quarterly.

Age
16 years of age or older
Education
High school diploma or GED
Advisor
An advisor should be consulted prior to enrolling in any
course. A program advisor will be assigned by admissions.

Salary Range
$18,000 TO $22,000
Job Market
With the current trend towards intensive management and forestry
as an investment, the market for qualified technicians
should remain strong.
Personal Traits Required
Strong work ethic, willingness to work in difficult terrain,
ability to work unsupervised
