Environmental Horticulture, Diploma

Program Description
The Environmental Horticulture program is a sequence of courses that prepares students for careers in environmental horticulture.  The program provides learning opportunities which introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and technical knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement.  Additionally, the program provides opportunities to retrain or upgrade present knowledge and skills.

Program Length
A minimum of 76 credit hours is required for graduation.
A full time student should expect to complete requirements in 5 quarters.  

Salary Range
$14,000 to 30,000 annually

Career Opportunities
The job market in the southeast U.S. remains strong for horticulture and all allied fields.

Career Traits/Requirements
Individuals interested in green industry careers should enjoy working outdoors. Jobs also require some physical activities and working well with others. Horticulture careers do offer a tremendous amount of job satisfaction and personal fulfillment.
