Program Description
The goal of the Fundamental Electrical Maintenance Technician
program is to produce graduates who are prepared for employment
using basic electrical maintenance skills. This certificate
program will provide knowledge, understanding, and skills
in the occupational areas of industrial safety, direct current
circuits, alternating current circuits, solid-state devices,
and DC and AC motors.
Length of Program
Length of program varies with the student’s ability
to schedule classes.
Entrance Date
Students are accepted quarterly.
Entrance Requirements
OTC Placement Exam
Age
16 years of age or older
Education
High School Diploma or GED
Advisor
An advisor should be consulted prior to enrolling in any course.
A program advisor will be assigned by admissions.
Salary Range
$7 - $12 an hour
Job Market
Graduates with a Fundamental Electrical Maintenance Technician
TCC are trained to perform basic tasks involved with the service,
repair, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment. This
certificate prepares someone for an entry-level job within
the electrical field.
