Program Description
The Auto Body Repair Assistant certificate is intended to
produce graduates who are prepared as auto body repair helpers.
Program graduates will be competent in the following occupational
areas of auto body: safety, components identification, hand
tools and equipment identification, mechanical and electrical
systems, fiberglass-plastic-rubber techniques, welding and
cutting, trim and glass, damage identification and assessment,
and minor collision repair.
Length of Program
Length of program varies with the student’s ability
to schedule classes.
Entrance Date
Students are accepted quarterly.
Entrance Requirements
OTC Placement Exam
Age
16 years of age or older
Education
High School Diploma or GED is not required.
Advisor
An advisor should be consulted prior to enrolling in any course.
A program advisor will be assigned by admissions.
Salary Range
$8 to $10 per hour
Job Market
Today's job market is growing rapidly requiring a more highly
trained technician.
Personal Traits Required
Potential students should be mechanically inclined and have
knowledge of math and computers. Working with hands is very
important.
