Program Description
Air Conditioning Technician's Assistant is a technical certificate
of credit program designed to train students to help technicians
perform their duties more efficiently by being knowledgeable
of air conditioning theory and practical applications. Primary
emphasis is to provide the student with basic skills and knowledge
of tools, assembly, disassembly, and installation.
Length of Program
Length of program varies with the student’s ability
to schedule classes.
Entrance Date
Students are accepted quarterly.
Entrance Requirements
OTC Placement Exam
Age
16 years of age or older
Education
High School Diploma or GED
Advisor
An advisor should be consulted prior to enrolling in any course.
A program advisor will be assigned by admissions.
Salary Range
$ 6–7 per hour
Job Market
Opportunities for employment exist in firms specializing in
air conditioning service and installation.
Personal Traits Required
Mechanically inclined, self- motivated, good work ethic, good
communication skills, and able to work with the public.
