Program Description
Graduates of the Air Conditioning program at Okefenokee Tech
are trained to become highly qualified technicians capable of
installing, servicing, and repairing a broad range of industrial
and residential heating and air conditioning equipment. Entry-level
positions include air conditioning installer’s assistant,
air conditioning technician’s assistant, refrigeration
mechanic’s assistant, and a variety of similar assignments
related to cooling and heating.

Students are accepted quarterly.

Education
High School Diploma or GED
Advisor
An advisor should be consulted prior to enrolling in any course.
A program advisor will be assigned by admissions.
Salary Range
$8-15 per hour
Job Market
Opportunities for employment exist in firms specializing in
heating, air conditioning and refrigeration, and in large
plants which maintain their own heating and air conditioning
maintenance personnel.
Personal Traits Required
Mechanically inclined, self-motivated, good work ethic, good
communication skills, and able to work with the public.
The schedule listed below is only an example of the courses
students should take each quarter. Students, who are unable
to attend full-time, may require more than five quarters to
complete the program.
