Industrial Facilities Maintenance Technology, Diploma

Program Description
The Industrial Facilities Maintenance Technology program is a set of courses that are designed to prepare students for careers in the air conditioning, electrical, industrial maintenance, and carpentry job fields.  The program includes heating and refrigeration, print reading, electricity principles, and plumbing.

Five Quarters

Entrance Date
Students are accepted quarterly

Entrance Requirements
OTC Placement Exam

Age
16 years of age or older

Education
High School Diploma or GED

Advisor
An advisor should be consulted prior to enrolling in any course.  A program advisor will be assigned by admissions.

Salary Range
Starting Salary:             $8 - $12 an hour
Future Earnings:            $16 - $20 an hour

Job Market
Graduates of the Industrial Facilities Maintenance Technology program at Okefenokee Tech are trained to be entry level technicians in the areas of air conditioning, electrical, maintenance, and/or carpentry.  Graduates with the knowledge and experience have great opportunities in this rapidly growing sector of the job market.

Personal Traits Required
An applicant/student must like hands on working conditions, be able to follow instructions well, maintain good physical condition, and be mechanically inclined.
