Program Description
The Salon Receptionist TCC is intended to produce graduates
who are prepared for employment as receptionists in salons.
Competencies include: booking appointments, answering telephone
appropriately, managing clients, and retailing professional
supplies to the public.
Length of Program
Length of program varies with the student’s ability
to schedule classes.
Entrance Date
Students are accepted quarterly.

OTC Placement Exam
Age
16 years of age or older
Education
High School Diploma or GED
Advisor
An advisor should be consulted prior to enrolling in any course.
A program advisor will be assigned by admissions.
Salary Range
$15,000 - $20,000 annually
Job Market
Most chain salons hire receptionists to book appointments
and manage money as well as sell retail products. Individual
salons also hire salon receptionists.
Personal Traits Required
Personal traits for a salon receptionist are vital to the
success of the salon. The first person the customer will make
contact with is the receptionist. The individual must be motivated,
a people person, able to work independently, and as with any
profession, should be willing to begin in an entry level position.
Appearance, punctuality, and professional attitude are only
a few of the personal traits required to be successful in
this profession.
