Salon Receptionist, Technical Certificate of Credit
Program Description
Salon Receptionist TCC is intended to produce graduates who are prepared for employment as a receptionist in salons. Competencies include: booking appointments, answering telephone appropriately, managing clients, and retailing professional supplies to the public.
Program Length
A minimum of 38 credit hours is required for graduation.
Length of program varies with the student’s ability to schedule classes.
Salary Range
$15,000-$20,000 annually
Career Opportunities
Most chain salons hire receptionists to book appointments and manage money as well as sell retail products. Individual salons also hire salon receptionists.
Career Traits/ Requirements
Personal traits for a salon receptionist are vital to the success of the salon. The first person the customer will make contact with is the receptionist. The individual must be motivated, a people person, able to work independently, and as with any profession, should be willing to begin in an entry level position. Appearance, punctuality, and professional attitude are only a few of the personal traits required to be successful in this profession.
