Program Description
The Accounting program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare students for careers in the accounting profession.  Learning opportunities develop academic, technical, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement.  The program emphasizes a combination of accounting theory and practical application necessary for successful employment using both manual and computerized accounting systems.

Program Length
A minimum of 72 credit hours is required for graduation.
A full time student can expect to complete requirements in 4 quarters

Salary Range
$14,000-$18,000 annually depending on the level of experience

Career Opportunities
The job market is good.
Opportunities are available for part-time and full-time positions.

A person pursuing the Accounting diploma should want to work in an office environment, enjoy working with numbers, enjoy basic math, be able to solve problems, enjoy working with people, have a customer service attitude, have the ability to multi-task, give attention to detail, display a professional appearance, enjoy working with computers and computer application software, and have a strong work ethic. They should be discreet and trustworthy and have a strong aptitude for numbers.
