The purpose of the academic programs at Okefenokee Technical College is to provide students the opportunity to develop academic knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for them to secure personally satisfying, rewarding, and socially useful employment. All programs of study comply with DTAE approved curriculum reflecting current, up-to-date knowledge and skills training.
Completion of a program of study results in the awarding of one of the following credentials.

Associate Degree
The associate degree program is a sequence of courses that prepares students for careers in various fields of employment in related businesses and industries.

The associate degree programs take approximately two years to complete with the required credit hours ranging from 90 to 110. The curriculum of the associate degree programs includes: general core courses, fundamental occupational/technical courses, and specific occupational/technical courses.

Joint AAS Program with Waycross College
An Associate of Applied Science degree is offered in cooperation with Waycross College (WC). Students completing selected diploma programs at OTC and completing the general education component at WC will be awarded this degree. Diploma
Diploma programs usually take 12-15 months to complete with the required credit hours ranging from 60 to 90 hours.

Technical Certificate of Credit
The purpose of TCC programs is to provide a structured sequence of credit courses that will enable individuals to either be employed in an entry level position or to increase their proficiency in their current job. These short-term training programs usually take no more than one year to complete with required credit hours ranging from 15 to 59 hours.

Associate degree, diploma, and technical certificate programs are offered in the following occupational and career areas:

Business and Computer Programs
Medical Programs
Personal/Public Service Programs
Technical and Industry Programs

Work Ethics
To further enhance employment skills, students receive instruction in work ethics. OTC's Work Ethics program is designed to promote positive work behavior and to prepare students to be better, more productive workers. The following ten work ethics traits are taught and practiced in each credit course.

Warranty
Georgia's Technical College System guarantees employers that graduates of state technical colleges shall possess the skills and knowledge as prescribed by state curriculum standards. Should any graduate employed within two years of graduation be deemed lacking in said skills, the student shall be retrained in any technical college at no charge for institutional costs to either the student or the employer.
